Instant Pot Puto Lanson or Steamed Cassava
This is my favorite afternoon snacks back in Iloilo since I was a kid. Cassava is a very common root crops in Iloilo. Puto lanson is made of steamed cassava, brown sugar and young coconut. The vendor usually use tin cans as mold then wrap it in a banana leaves before selling.

Ingredients
Instructions:
- Squeeze out the juice from grated cassava using a cheese cloth.
- Combine grated cassava with brown sugar and young coconut. Mix well.
- Stuff the mixture in a mold with holes at the bottom. I made holes on my silicone molds.
- Add 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot. Place the bamboo steamer with puto lanson.
- Set the Instant Pot to Manual Mode, High Pressure for 10 minutes, 10 minutes NPR.
- Enjoy.
- Serve with margarine or butter if you like.
- I also try using frozen Goya brand Cassava 24 oz. (1.5 lbs). The net weight after squeezing the liquid was 18.9 oz. I added 8 tbsp. (95 grams) brown sugar.
- Frozen cassava has less work compare with fresh ones.
- I am able to make 10 puto lanson using the silicone muffin mold.
