Air fryer Turmeric Chicken
This is one of my favorite chicken. It taste good and the skin is crispy. I usually make this with chicken thighs and chicken quarter.
I tried to convert this to Instant Pot, the Air fryer version retains more flavor.

Ingredients:
- 4 chicken thighs
- 10 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. coarse sea salt
- ½ tsp. black pepper, grind
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. coriander seeds, crushed
- 2 tbsp. maggi seasoning
- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
- --
- ¾ cup rice flour
- ¾ cup glutinous rice flour
- Make 2 slits on the chicken meat near the bone area for the flavor to absorb well.
- In a small bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients and mix until well blended.
- Transfer chicken into a large ziploc bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken and toss to evenly coat the chicken for richer flavor. Marinate for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Mix rice flour and glutinous rice flour then coat the chicken very well. Remove excess flour.
- Line the air fryer basket with foil. Place the chicken in the air fryer skin down.
- Spray the chicken with vegetable oil to wet the flour.
- Air fry at 370 F for 25 minutes.
- After 25 minutes is up, turn the chicken skin side up. No need to spray oil since chicken skin produce oil.
- Air fry for 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.
- Enjoy.
- For 2 chicken quarter, I use the same amount of marinade. I double my marinade for 4 chicken quarter.
- I marinate some of my chicken leg quarter and freeze. I defrost it when I'm ready to cook.
- Omit the salt if you don't like a little bit salty chicken.
