Instant Pot Whole Fish

Instant Pot Whole Fish

Equipment:
  • Measuring spoons
  • Instant Pot
Ingredients:
  • 1 whole fish (pompano or red snapper)
  • 6 Pandan leaves, cut into small pieces
  • 1 stalk lemongrass
  • Salt (to taste)
Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp. Maggi seasoning
  • 1 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • ½ tsp. white cooking wine
  • 1 tsp. oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
Instructions:
  • Clean the fish and season with salt.
  • Stuff the cavity of the fish with 1 stalk of lemongrass and place inside a Pyrex bowl.
  • Place the pandan leaves on top of the fish. Pandan leaves and lemon grass give a nice aroma and flavor to the fish.
  • Instant Pot Whole Fish
  • In a small bowl, mix the sauce ingredients together and pour over the fish.
  • Place 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet inside then carefully set the Pyrex bowl with the fish on top of the trivet. 
  • Instant Pot Whole Fish
  • Close the lid, set the Instant Pot to Manual/High Pressure for 8 minutes, and let it perform a 10 minutes NPR.
  • Serve hot and enjoy with Jasmine Rice!
Note:
  • I haven’t tried cooking whole tilapia with this recipe yet.
